Corset Eyelet and Washer 5mm

5mm Eyelets & Washers5mm Eyelets & Washers

We stock, and prefer to use, this style of two part eyelet (or Grommet). They are very strong and offer the best distribution of the forces from the laces to the fabric of the corset. The washer/ eyelet combination 'grabs' a significant area of fabric, reducing the chances of the eyelet tearing out of the corset if the laces are pulled really tight.

Supplied in a pack of 40 ( 40 washers and 40 eyelets) or in bulk packs of 100 or 1000. Finished in bright, rust proof, nickel chrome or now in Antique Steel!

After much trial and error we believe that these are best quality eyelets currently available!

Each pack comes complete with hammer setting tools and full instructions. Please note, the dies (tool tips) included in the pack fit into the Vario Pliers for even easier fixing of the eyelets.

Eyelet hole is 5mm.

Eyelet packs are available in Chrome (Silver), Gilt (Gold), and Black Finishes.

The Antique Steel Corset Eyelets are currently only available in packs of 40 but are the most wonderful colour, sort of anthracite. We like them with old looking fabrics, denim and much more.

NB
The loose packs of gold and black eyelets are a little more tricky to use than the silver or the blister packs but we have found that they grip the fabric better. You do have to balance the washer a little on the tool to set it.

You may find that the eyelet and washer work if you turn the washer the other way up.

If in doubt why not mail us with your address for a free sample?

As always if you ever have a problem with any of our products we are always happy to refund or replace.

Specification:

5mm (internal diameter) two part eyelet and washer.

The stem is approximately 4mm deep.

Thanks to Lucie for her top eyeletting tips
"The best method i have found to insert a 5mm eyelet is to punch a 2.5mm hole, put a bit of fray check fluid on it, then insert a 5.5mm knitting needle into the hole, then put the 'top hat' part of the eyelet onto the end of the needle, (it will just sit snugly on the taper of the tip) and slide the fabric down onto it! no fiddling with awls & small holes....
