"the pewter ones look absolutely superb for an application of Rub 'n' Buff.
I ended up getting a really rather nice effect on the gold clasps by using the "Spanish copper" Rub 'n' Buff... basically worked it into all the dips, which really brought the design out, and softened the harshness of the bright gold quite nicely too.
So if you get anyone else wanting a more antiquey gold, I'd recommend going with the pewter and dry-brushed Rub 'n' Buff. Only downside is I've yet to find something that'll seal it sufficiently to wash, so best avoided if it's for something that's going to go in the machine."
